Dale Nielson

Dale is a native of Cache County and began collecting local butterflies in 1965, but didn't begin to properly label specimens until 1968 .
Joined the Utah Lepidopterists' Society in 2004.
Attended Utah State University, receiving B.S. and M.S. degrees in biology (entomology). Employed by the USDA - Agricultural Research Service since 1983.
Main interest in butterflies is the phylogenetic relationships and distribution of coppers.
10 years of experience in photographing butterflies.
